Cookie Policy

Birds and Primates of East Africa Safaris is based in Nairobi, Kenya. This policy applies to our website and explains technologies that may store information on, or obtain information from, the device you use to access it.

The exact technologies used on the website may change as the website develops. We aim to keep this policy consistent with the technologies actually in use.

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites may store on a visitor's device. They can perform a range of functions, including supporting website operation, remembering preferences, helping maintain security and, where implemented, providing information about how a website is used.

Websites can also use technologies that perform functions similar to cookies. References to cookies in this policy may include comparable technologies where appropriate.

Depending on the final technologies enabled on our website, cookies or similar technologies may be used for purposes such as:

• Supporting essential website functionality.
• Maintaining website security and reliability.
• Remembering choices or preferences where such features are provided.
• Enabling third-party content or services requested by a visitor.
• Understanding website performance or usage if analytics tools are introduced.

We do not currently operate an email newsletter, and a website enquiry is not treated as consent to unrelated email marketing.

Some technologies may be necessary for a website or a requested feature to function correctly, securely or reliably.

Where a technology is genuinely necessary for a service requested by the visitor or for essential website functionality, it may operate differently from optional technologies used for purposes such as analytics or advertising.

Our website may provide access to services supplied by third parties. When third-party content or services are loaded, the relevant provider may receive technical information about your device or interaction and may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies.

Third-party providers are responsible for their own privacy and cookie practices. We encourage visitors to review the relevant provider's information before using an external service.

Our website may use Google Maps to help visitors understand our Nairobi location or other relevant geographic information.

If embedded Google Maps content is loaded, requests may be made to Google and Google may process technical information or use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with its own policies.

Where practical, we aim to implement external map content in a privacy-conscious manner, including avoiding unnecessary loading before a visitor needs the feature.

Our website may provide a link or contact option that allows visitors to communicate with us using WhatsApp.

Following a WhatsApp link takes you to a service operated by a third party. Your interaction with WhatsApp is subject to the privacy and technology practices applicable to that service.

We recommend that you avoid sending passport information, detailed health information or other sensitive personal information through an initial WhatsApp enquiry unless it is reasonably required and we have asked you to provide it through an appropriate channel.

We do not state in this policy that a particular analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking platform is active unless it is actually implemented on the website.

If optional analytics, advertising or similar technologies are introduced, this Cookie Policy and any relevant consent controls should be updated to accurately reflect those technologies before or when they are activated.

Where optional cookies or similar technologies requiring a choice are used, appropriate controls should be made available so that visitors can make that choice where required.

You can also use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking certain technologies may affect the operation of some website features or third-party content.

Browser controls differ between browsers and devices. Please consult the settings or help information provided by your browser for instructions relevant to your device.

We may update this Cookie Policy when our website technologies, third-party services, business practices or applicable requirements change.

The current version will be published on this page and the date at the top will show when it was most recently updated.
